Elis Wynne was born in Glanamman near Ammanford in Carmarthenshire and still lives in the area with his wife Sue.
He started singing at Junior School and when the National Eisteddfod visited Ammanford in the 60's, he won first prize as a boy soprano. At the age of 13 he started playing guitar and soon formed a local covers band called 'Midnight City'. He went on to play with many semi-professional groups including 'Bison', 'Stardust' and 'Discovery'. Whilst playing residencies, sometimes these groups would support well known acts such as 'The Searchers', Lulu, Max Boyce, Roy Castle and Tony Christie.
Wynne decided to go solo during the 90's, playing pubs and clubs before taking up residencies at various holidau resorts.
In the last few years Wynne has concentrated on writing and recording original material.

It’s not often that an album is able to so vividly convey the best music of· the 60’s and 70’s.· Elis Wynne is a new artist to the Welsh speaking music scene but his background as a professional musician, stretching all the way back to his upbringing in Garnant, in the 1960’s· informs every second of these songs. It’s a journey that includes bitter sweet memories, humour, celebration, love and no small amount of pathos!
